Steven J. Duede

An artist, transitioning from painting and mixed media in the late 2000's to working almost exclusively in photography, Steven Duede brings a sense of painting to his use of the camera. The influence of painting in much of the photographic work cannot be understated. Living and working in the Boston Massachusetts area since 2001 and with a work history in museums, non profits, academic settings he carries his attachment to the creative process to all work. Steven has served with the board of directors at the Griffin Museum of Photography and the Cambridge Art Association. Currently he is a member of the programming committee with the Photographic Resource Center/Boston. His work has been recognized and supported as a fellowship finalist by the Massachusetts Cultural Council Visit: Mass Cultural Council and he founded and works as principal and curator of Aspect Initiative, an online gallery showcasing Fine Art Photography. Additionally, Steven has served as a reviewer in the New England Portfolio reviews sponsored by the Griffin Museum of Photography. RISD portfolio reviews and has served as a juror for United Photo Industries The FENCE. Steven served as a portfolio reviewer in the Palm Springs Portfolio reviews at the Photo Plus Expo in NYC as well as the annual PSPF in sunny Palm Springs CA. His work has been exhibited regularly in the Boston area, New England, and across the nation.
